Gail

A Fond Farewell to a Very Special Organization

Three years ago I was very privileged to join Saanich Volunteers as the Executive Director. Saanich Volunteers is steeped in a history of service with a tag line of ‘Neighbours helping Neighbours” which surpasses any motto currently being used to encourage volunteerism. Volunteering to assist ones neighbour to remain independent in their home is a truly altruistic endeavour and Saanich Volunteers has been doing this for 25 years. The staff and volunteers go beyond the call of duty each and every day which has made my role one of deep gratification and appreciation.
As I move on to my own retirement, my hope is to continue to serve through volunteering and supporting the exceptional work of Saanich Volunteers along
with spending time with all of my family and grandchildren.
I want to thank everyone who has made my three years here so rewarding and wish the volunteers and staff continued success and satisfaction knowing that what they do is so valuable to our community. I would also like to thank all of our funders, particularly the Municipality of Saanich, for their unfailing support of our organization. Without the support of our funders and donors this service would not be possible.
Best wishes for continued success!
With gratitude, Gail Snider

Thrifty’s Smile Cards Can Help US Serve You!

Have you heard of the Thriftys Smile Card Program?  This fantastic program helps SVSS and costs you nothing.
If you shop at Thriftys and use a smile card that you can get from us, 5% of the value of your purchases is returned to Saanich Volunteer Services to help us purchase items for our volunteers and clients.

Last year we purchased first aid kits for our drivers and swivel cushions to help clients move in and out of vehicles when being driven to appointments.smilecardgiftcards

Every little bit helps so let us know if you would like a smile card and we will arrange to get one to you or you can drop by our office and pick one up from Sandi, our Office Coordinator.

As always, we are grateful for your support!
