How We Support Clients
Food Security
Our volunteers help with grocery shopping and food hamper delivery.
We offer clients a weekly lunch by appointment on Thursdays through the Let's Do Lunch Program hosted at our office at 1445 Ocean View Road.
Clients can call reception at 250-595-8008 to book a spot and we can also provide transportation with at least one week's notice. If you are not yet a client, call Sharon to book a first time consultation!
Financial Support
We provide a free tax filing service through the Canada Revenue Agency's Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. With CRA checks in place our volunteers offer in person and over the phone tax filing help. For this program only, our clients can register for our help from the whole of the Capital Regional District.

This program is not presently running. We have replaced it with shopping help for you and a friend who is also an SVSS client.
The SVSS shopping bus excursion was the highlight of the week for us. Not only do we get the weekly shopping done, with all the help we need, we also get to know like-minded people.
To meet others is extremely important for every one’s mental well-being. We look forward to our weekly adventure, combining pleasure with the necessities of life.
ELIGIBILITY
Any adult over 19 who is living independently within the Municipality of Saanich may be eligible to register for our services. Registration starts with a call with our Client Services Coordinator, Sharon Parker, she will speak with you or your family/representative to set up an initial, in home consult to assess how our services may assist you.
NOTE: We accept new referrals by self-referral, community or professional referral
directly to Sharon Parker at 250-853-2667.

REFERRAL & REGISTRATION
Our client program runs with self referral, health care referral, or community referral by phone, fax, or e-mail.
Upon referral, telephone contact will be made to confirm eligibility followed by a required one-on-one home visit with our client coordinator to complete the registration for services.
This visit will include a discussion of assistance required and information will be shared on other available community services.
Personal data, emergency contacts, and information on health, mobility, and other support services being received are collected during the registration process.
